Effective as of January 1, 2015:   No entity may dispose of e-waste (electronics) as trash in New York State.

Please visit these two sites for additional information regarding electronic disposal: 

Under the State Law, electronics include:

- Televisions (as well as cathode ray tubes)

- Computers

- Computer Peripherals [monitors, keyboards, mice or similar pointing devices, facsimile machines, document scanners, printers including any affixed cable, cod or wiring]

- Small Electronic Equipment [VCRs, digital video recorders, portable digital music players, DVD players, converter boxes, cable or satellite receivers, electronic or video game consoles,etc., including any permanently affixed cable, cord or wiring]

- Small Scale Servers
